Perfect for beginner sewists, this class combines hands-on machine basics with the joy of creating a unique and vibrant wall hanging from repurposed fabrics. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or looking to build confidence with your machine, this supportive, beginner-friendly class is for you.
What you’ll learn:
- Sewing machine basics: Winding a bobbin, threading your machine, and sewing straight lines.
- Patchwork techniques: Selecting, arranging, and piecing together fabric squares.
- Finishing skills: Ironing, pinning, and assembling your wall hanging with a fabric backing and dowel for easy display.
What’s provided:
- A variety of second-hand woven fabrics in colorful squares for your project.
- Neutral cotton ribbon, dowels for hanging, and thread.
- One-on-one guidance throughout the class to help you feel confident and supported.
What to bring:
- Your own sewing machine (with a needle, foot pedal, and power cord).
- Your sewing machine manual (if you have it! you can sometimes find these online)
- A bobbin compatible with your machine (extras for some models will be available).

Class Fee: $65 - $105 on a sliding scale.
