What to bring to class:

  • BYOSM (bring your own Sewing machine!) - if you have never used your machine, please make sure you machine works before class
  1. Textile of your choice to make the tote bag - a towel, a blanket, curtains or another piece of fabric measuring no less than 16” x 36” - some canvas material will be available for use if you cannot find anything
  2. Thread
  3. Sewing machine needles
  4. Bobbins

About the teacher: Leeann Terwilliger is a sewist for Psychic Outlaw and has been sewing, crafting, and making since she was a child. She is a licensed clinical social worker who believes creating can be a powerful therapeutic tool and loves empowering others with creative skills and confidence. She was also the co-founder and primary instructor for Broads and Boards, an Austin non-profit that supported women and non-binary individuals in woodworking. Leeann’s approach to teaching is guided by values of curiosity, compassion, and connection, striving to create a welcoming and safe space for students of all experience levels to learn and find community.
